About
Josefa is a French writer-director based in Scotland inspired to tell stories that blend genres and strike a delicate balance between the bizarre and the heartfelt.
She's drawn to telling the stories of atypical female characters who feel out of place. After her Screen Academy Scotland graduation film "Event Horizon" in 2015, she was commissioned by the Scottish Film Talent Network with her short "Tomorrow Might Be The Day" (2018).
Since then she received early development funding from SFTN for her debut feature and support from EIFF's Talent Lab (2018), Talent Lab Connects (2019), and the European development programme Less Is More (2020).
In 2024 her short "Kings of the Court" premiered at Aesthetica and her latest short film, "Nora Can't Score," screened at EIFF, Encounters and PÖFF. "Nora Can't Score" was developed with support from BBC Film and NFTS as part of the inaugural cohort of the NFTS Sean Connery Talent Lab.
